Zanaco Bank in Zambia

Shukri Sharif

Hey everyone,

Can someone suggest how a foreigner (non-resident) can open a bank account at Zanaco Bank in Zambia?

I am currently working on a project and my client insists I open bank account at Zanaco Bank to receive my compensation.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shukri

Welcome to the forum

I checked online and to open a bank account you need your passport, payslip or proof of income and a introduction / reference letter from your employer. Also passport type photographs.

Zanaco is the largest bank in Zambia. You can open a foreign currency account with them. Make sure that you can do international transfers on whichever account you open.

Thanks Stumpy! Appreciate your input.
The only thing that I could not also understand from the website is whether I can open an account as a foreigner and non-resident of Zambia, because it seems like Zanaco only deals with residents and citizens.

If anyone knows anyone who works at Zanaco - I would really appreciate if you could check this information with them. I emailed Zanaco myself but all three emails were ignored.

Thanks once again!
