Expatriation to Tunisia: border updates

Hello everyone,

in Tunisia as elsewhere, the current pandemic has changed our way of life but also our mobility, due to the state of borders of nearby countries or countries we wanted to visit.

Today we would like to take stock of the current border situation in Tunisia and collect your testimonies, whether you are already an expat there or still preparing your move.

Is the country currently accessible to newcomers?

Have quarantine measures been put in place? If so, what are they?

What about leaving the territory as an expat resident? Will you be able to easily reach Tunisia if you leave it temporarily?

How does the current borders state impact you, whether you are already an expatriate in Tunisia or are planning to move there soon?

Do you have some visibility about the future of borders in your country of expatriation, in the longer or shorter term?

We have been living in Tunisia since 2019. We came to the UK in November and should have returned on 26th December, we are still here and have no way of being able to get back. My husband came for 10 days, partly for work and should have returned on 22nd December and still here. Our home is there, our poor dog has been in a kennel since my husband left and there is absolutely no help out there at all for us to get back! My husband thought he could as he was advised by Lufthansa that there was no restrictions, providing he had pcr test and hotel reservation in Tunis, which he had and when he arrived at Heathrow, they told him he couldn't fly! We are now stranded here and desperate to get home. The Tunisian Embassy have been no help at all.

Sorry for you.

This pandemic all over made the world getting crazy.

I am a Lebanese, my wife and daughter are Tunisians, came to Tunisie since 5 month ago.
Expecting to get a permanent Visa very quickly as long as of my wife and my daughter have a double nationality.
It's been 5 month and maybe more a month and a half to get the respond about my staying permission, desperately waiting jobless and even lost my flight ticket back if i want to.

I know what you're feeling, hopefully things will get better soon.
