Bringing an African Grey Parrot to Mauritius

Liluth

Hi

We are moving to Mauritius end 2021. We have an African Grey parrot that we would like to bring with as he has been part of the family for 17 years. Can anybody give me some advise if this would at all be possible?

Best regards

@Liluth  did you have any luck with the export of your African Grey- we were told no female parrots allowed unless sterilised - no animal clinic in SA are prepared to assist.

Unfortunately it is virtually impossible to export a parrot. They are regarded a endangered species and you need a CETIS export permit. PETPORT can assist with this but the cost is about R38000.

We have found our parrot a home with a family member. Luckily both adore each other. We got Jack as a chick and he is now 18 years old. 😢
