Mauritius National Identity Card 3.0

I updated my MNIC 2.0 card in 2023.  Heard that there is a new MNIC 3.0 and this supports Mobile ID.  Has anyone have problems with the new MNIC?  And what the benefits of the Mobile ID?


Any reason to get the new card?

Hello


I don't think there's much utility to it. They also have a couple of app (maupass, korek, mocloud) where we are supposed to download certificates easily and it is just a mess (bugs, no activation email). For the 2FA you are required to go to the nearest post office...

Which I did. You give them your phone number (isn't already recorded) and they send you a sms to validate it.


Yep, you have to go for to the post office for this ... in 2026
