There is no inheritance, capital gains or wealth taxes in Mauritius. You are taxed only on your income derived in Mauritius and worldwide income remitted to Mauritius.

I would assume that you would want to financially emigrate from South Africa, as potentially you could be taxed by both countries.  In South Africa you are taxed on your worldwide income and not on a remittance basis as in Mauritius. You need to review the double tax agreement between the two countries, which will avoid double taxation on the same income, but you could still be taxed in South Africa on for example, if you rented your house out in SA.

Hi. From the little experience I have dealing with SARS on a non tax resident application, there is a 'no double tax agreement' between Mauritius and South Africa, however I think SARS would tax you above an income of R1m or R1.2m (ZAR) but a South African accountants can advise you properly on that.
