Car engine disposal

Hi. I recently had to replace my car engine and the mechanic gave me the old engine as he had no use for it. Is there anywhere in Mauritius where I can safely dispose of the engine, like a scrap yard or recycling company?

I'm asking because I care about the environment and I want to send it to a reputable company that will properly dispose/recycle the car engine and its parts.

Perhaps a larger mechanic/repairer will take it. Maybe post it on marketplace or something as free. Also, there are people that pick up metal/scraps etc, but they usually only do this in local areas - worth a look though. Thanks for caring for environment.
