Safety in Madagascar

Hello everyone, I am planning to move to Mada (city undecided yet) and would like to know how is the safety around for expats (I'm an Indian). Can I move out and about in the evenings. I will be shifting alone for now but will be getting my wife after about 6 months. Is the place safe enough for couples? Are there any gated communities that we can choose to live in Antananarivo.

Any information/suggestion will be most appreciated. Thanks

I am looking to live in Madagascar with my family. I wonder if there are gated ( safe) comunities to pick . Please let me know any personal related experience you had in a similar situation ( expat in Madagascar looking for the safest comunity ). Thank you for your honest reply
