Libya: X Things I Hate About You
Sandman6 wrote:bohemiangal wrote:Desert rigs? I don't even know what desert rigs are. Aren't most of the people at or on "desert rigs" foreign workers (I'm assuming it has something to do with oil).
Over 500,000 Libyans are directly, or indirectly employed in the oil & gas industry, which makes O&G employment one of the highest per-capita industries of any country. Are you trying to tell me that anywhere close to that number of expats work in Libya?
So, besides oil/gas and tuna consumption, what else do Libyans excel at?
- Highest per capita ownership of sunglasses?
- Highest per capita use of hair gel?

The Italians might have something to say about that, na on the other hand you are right.

Before you go criticising others, you should try removing your rose-tinted spectacles! Get off your high horse, stop your double standards and accept that others may have opinions and beliefs which may differ from your own.
A: Nothing, she didn't listen to you the first two times.
Dumbass thread this, should have been deleted long ago, it's getting out of hand now.

I have not been around for a while,,, due to heavy work and an unexpected business trip to Egypt.
regarding this subject, expatlibyan raised, I believe that everyone is free to express his point of view. However, we can not generalise. There are well-educated civilised Libyan people.
no doubt, there are so many bad manners among the Libyans, the driving is crazy, I am not to blame the people only. I am to blame the government, media and the education sector because they are the key to build the better Libya and help Libyan people modernise.
e.g the government to put a system like the points system in the UK and police enforcement body to get those tw@ts off behind the wheels.
I think, as Libyans, we should do our bits, we should talk and advise our friends relatives and colleagues about changing to the better.
Mr. Expatlibyan, just talking here would not help our country improve. Start today, do one thing to help Libya towards a better future. Pick up a litter and drop it in the dustbin. give way to people crossing the road, give way to other drivers, thank other drivers gave you the way, teach children to respect elders. do help and participate in mass beach cleaning campaigns.
I hope you all the best, have a good day

No ex-pat sh1t for me in the future, at least you know where you stand with Libyans, some expats

It was mate, if you were there, I was the guy wandering about with the green polo shirt looking like a right d1ckhead
And either spending my time standing at the gate, or doing the dishes

If you don't like it , why you don't leave to another country ??
man , libya is libya , and i like it like this ,
Many say this not because they mean it or believe in it, they say it because they know they don't have a choice.
ExpatLibyan wrote:I am Libyan; I love my country and very proud of my heritage.
How can you subscribe to an identity not of your choosing? How can you be proud of something to which you did not consent?
I will add couple of things to the list...
People with attitude.
People full of hatred.
I do not know why you have all these grudges? if you do not like it,,, why don't u just go back to the states and save your breath.
Sandman6 wrote:MoEl is perfectly entitled to his opinion, as are the rest of us, Libyan nationals included.
You are right, everyone is entitled to his opinion, however we supposed not to spread hatred and feud in such helpful and decent forum.
He generalised, and over-exaggerated in most of his views.
I am Libyan, I admit there are loads of bad stuff, but to tag the Libyans with these characters is unfair.
I have been Living in Libya since I was born, visited so many countries, European, Asian and African but I will never generalise. If I was conned or robbed in Egypt I wouldn't say all Egyptians are thieves. I was miss treated in the UK I wouldn't say all the British are raciest or rough.
Mr. Sandman
You said it, everyone is entiteled to his opinion.
I am free to express my opinion about MoEl.
