Health insurance

tanzonholiday2016

I will be moving to Nairobi in June 2017. Can anyone from perhaps the USA recommend health insurance coverage that isn't over the top expensive. Well you never know what could happen but I am basically needing it for stuff like minor illnesses, A&E visits or even a pregnancy.

Arrange your health insurance here in Kenya, insuring with a local provider.  It's much more cost effective.

For example AAR is well established and has a network of clinics and doctors services.  Jubilee was recently recommended to us as one of the better companies.

Thanks but would I still qualify since I am not a citizen?

Yes you do. I bought a policy while in Kenya on a visitors visa.  Your immigration status isn't important, but you will have to undergo a medical. If you have a pre existing condition, not all insurers will cover this.

Medical insurance is worth it, as hospital admission is incredibly expensive.
