Healthcare in Ghana

I think Health Insurance would be a must in Ghana - but saying that I don't have any!
The government hospitals are very basic and should probably be avoided unless there is no alternative.
Private clinics vary but are better then the government ones. They are quite expensive although Americans here find that they are much cheaper than in America. Most expats - and Ghanaians who can afford it - usually go abroad for major operations rather than have them here.

the healthcare really depends if you are staying in a small village, a city or a bigger city.

@GuestPoster6985 In the village of Akuapem, Mampong, the hospital is cash only. You can’t even get an aspirin without paying cash on the spot. They do not feed you. Family brings soup every day!  Staff are mostly on their phones.
