American in Italy

amborg

I'm new to the group.  My name is Ann, originally from South Dakota USA, have been living in Italy for three years now, with my Italian husband.  Don't know how much longer we're going to be here in Italy, since we're thinking of moving back to the States.

Welcome on board Ann!

Did you speak Italian when you moved to Italy?

All the best,

Julien

Thanks Julien.  The only words I was able to speak when I arrived where ciao, pizza and spaghetti.  That's it.

Hello Ann from London,

So how long does it take to learn Italian?

Hi Ann!

Welcome!
Why do you plan to go back to the USA? Do you feel the homesick?

Oliver,
There are a few reasons why we're planning on moving back.  For me, I'm sick and tired of the bureacratic red tape it takes to get things done here, the vanity and self-centeredness plus others.  My husband, he's tired of the political and economic situation, and we're thinking of starting a business in the States.

That's a good reason to go to the US ;) It is sometimes complicated to start a business in Europe!

From what I've heard about starting a business in Italy, sounds like a lot of red tape etc.  From what some of my students told me about some horror stories about buying a house, imagine starting a business in an already saturated market for what we want to do.
