Time for haitins to stand up foe themselves

alexstockett

Arresting Americans trying to help children of this devastated country? With all do respect to the injured and deceased, arresting our people for trying to help them is a deal-breaker, obviously they believe their system is best so let them take charge and pull everyone out and send our people where they are appreciated!

Alex, in spite of the situation, no one should ever ever be allowed to "steal" children. Yes, the situation in Haiti is awful. Yes, there are thousands and thousands of children left without a family. But unless there is really nothing left to do, they shouldn't be STOLEN.  Many children are leaving the island by LEGAL ways. If they don't have those papers, they just can't do that. No matter how "in nome of God" it is. That isn't how it works. Ever. If they had the legal papers to leave the country, there wouldn't be such a fuss. But they didn't. And they LIED saying those children were orphans when obviously most of them weren't.
You see, it's not only about doing the "right" thing, but doing the "moral" thing. Children leaving their families and country like thefts would complicate the procedure if when arriving in the US (or wherever they were going), qualified people would see the mistake. And then what ? Send the children back ? After some kind of hope, send them back to a shredded life ?
To do things right take time. And this isn't Hollywood. We just can't save the day like that.
