Philippines Girl traveling outside of the Philippines

bob_fig

I hope someone can help me with this situation.  I have a girlfriend from the Philippines and I want to bring her to where I'm living.  She is not flying to my country as a tourist, but rather as a future resident.  I think I have to submit a bunch of papers to Philippines immigration to do this, and I'm not up for that.  The other option is to buy a round trip ticket from Manila to my country of residence & then back to Manila.  She is leaving with no intention of returning to the Philippines for a long time.  Is it possible for me to buy a round trip ticket for her to Bangkok, and then once she gets to Bangkok I want to have 1 way tickets for her to South America where I live.  I guess the question is whether she would have any problems flying 1 way after she lands in Bangkok.  All of the countries where she will land only requires her passport.  Is it possible to do this without any problems?

You will need to submit the mountain of papers, return ticket, and appropriate visa to the country of her destination. While in transit to the destination usually Customs & Immigrations in countries where a person's flight lands will only be interested in seeing the onward ticket out of that country. However, upon arrival at the final destination a traveller must have all travel documents in order, that includes passport, exit visa (for country of origin if one is required), entry visa and most require confirmation of the return flight upon entry.

Sounds to me like your girlfriend will be spending a lot of time in the air, and you spending a lot of money for nothing... looks like she'll end up being put back on the same plane flying out to where she came from under these circumstances. Customs & Immigrations all over South America are notoriously efficient and brutal about anyone trying to slip in without proper documentation. Deportation is usually instant and permanent.

And remember that any paperwork regarding immigration has to be submitted in your girlfriends country and she has to be there too.
In other words she cannot be with you in your country whilst the application is being processed.

You said it well Sir James and wherever she may be she still gonna need lots of supporting documents as what you just said ("I think I have to submit a bunch of papers to Philippines immigration to do this, and I'm not up for that.") Heres my option why don't you go to Philippines and assist her to all what she needs especially in DFA (Dept. of Foreign Affair). Less worries and less spending money. :)
