Foreign nationals seeking internship opportunities in any United Nations-affiliated organizations in Kenya will now secure slots for free, a move that will open doors for more foreign applications.
This is after Interior CS Fred Matiang'i announced having reached a decision to do away with fees that could be paid to the government by all foreigners seeking the internships.
In a Gazette Notice (No.3619) dated April 18, 2019, the CS stated that foreign nationals were now exempted from the internship pass fees.
"The cabinet secretary for interior and co-ordination of national government exempts foreign nationals seeking internship programs with United Nations Organizations in Kenya from the requirement of payment of internship pass fees," the notice reads in part.
