Hi Zowie

1) Living
It really depends on where you are working and what kind of areas you prefer. This will also affect cost of housing.
- KL City Center ( Areas surrounding KLCC, Ampang HIlir - near a number of embassy and int. school, Bukit Ceylon - close proximity to city center but off the busy areas and near bukit bintang)
- Mont Kiara / Hartamas / Bangsar (large number of expat community, off from city center with approx 10-15mins drive)
- Damansara / Desa Park City (more family/housing areas, expat community is growing, but a distance from KL area)

2) International School
Price range can start from RM10k up to RM60k per year. You can check out the list below, there are probably more as I may miss some out. Or you can look for catholic school if you're looking for english based schools.
- Alice Smith Int School, KL
- Sri Utama
- The British Int. School, KL
- Cempaka Int. School, Cheras
- Fairview Int. School, KL
- Garden Int. School, KL
- Sri KL, SJ
- Maz Int. School, PJ
- Mont Kiara Int. School, MK
- Sayfol Int. School, KL

3) Salary
Best would be above RM10k (a little tight) -RM15k for a comfortable living. As you will need to consider housing, tax, grocery, expenses, transport etc.

Hope this helps

Hi,
It depends on many criteria but if you chose to live in an expat area it will cost you around 5000 or 6000 ringgits minimum for a 3 bedrooms apartment in a condo. I have visited around 20 units before l found one l like , it costs me even more and without utilities and l made some compromises. On top of that the car or transport can cost a lot especially if you take the taxi to go to work at the beginning and cars are very expansive. The school is also a big part in your budget and  you should better negotiate it because even pre school is expansive. One last important thing to do is to negotiate your salary in euros or dollars otherwise you will lose a lot of money in changing your currency when you send money abroad because of the ringgit falling down .So be careful to negotiate very well your salary and expat package or you can regret it later :-)
PS: l have noticed that you come from belgium so the good news is that there is an international french school (lfkl) in segambut area and it is less expansive than the other international school. They have a good level and concentrate also on teaching english from pre-school. It costs around 20000myr for pre-school and 25000myr from the age of 6 . + 4000myr one time for first registration fees .

15k with two kids is too low. Before tax 25k min. Two earners 15k each (need child care as well as school fees).

For Brits with free education and health care I reckon with two kids 40k is min to make it financially worthwhile or old salary plus 50% whatever is higher.
