Immigration or study in Vietnam

Hi I am a graduate software engineer working here in riyadh saudi ararabia with more than 5 years experience in this field.

How about this country and its life , job etc?

Coming here on study visa is good? Immigration possible for me?

Please help me I really don't know what to do.

What kind of job are you looking for?  The prospects for foreigners isn't very good, unless you're a caucasian English speaker and want to teach (which doesn't sound like you).

Thanks for replying.

As I mentioned that I am software engineer with more than 5 years experience in this field.

So obviously I will be looking for job as a software engineer in software company.

immigration to Vietnam is virtually impossible, absent some genetic connection to Vietnam as either a Kinh or recognized Ethnc Minority. Living in Vietnam as an expatriate is possible, and there are threads covering that, as well as living and working in Vietnam without a five year visa.

Tell me about softwae engineer jobs there? Can I find the work in this field and how much is the average salary for a software engineer?

If you intend to make money, then Vietnam is not better than Saudi Arabia  :)
If you just need a peaceful life, then Vietnam is your better choice!
People are friendly but officials not  :)  unless you make them 'happy'.

So regarding to my qualifications and experience what country is good for me to earn money?

VNese software graduates are very hot, in fact while graduating classes have been hired by Japanese companies and flown over there to work. Now they keep them in VN and employ them here. Saves money and salary!

For experienced, specialist software types there are occasional openings. Immigration naturally wants them to be filled with home grown talent which reduces the opportunities somewhat.

As others have implied, gaining a foothold (opening) without specialist knowledge, will be hard. Seems that software guys are growing on trees and the available pool is large.

Another challenge is language. Vietnamese is hard on it's own for daily use, technical Vietnamese is even more hard to learn.

Maybe you should try Japan or TaiWan for potential openings. There is a post on this chatroom that covers employment search engines covering Vietnamese job opportunities - that might possibly be of help to you.

Cost of living is lower here than in many countries and salaries are proportionately lower here.

That you should find out yourself  :)
I am not an expert in hiring field!

The US.  Good luck getting a Visa, though.

Good help.thanks alot

@shami khan

You must have just about run out of countries to check out by now. Must be getting writers cramp too  :o

No doubt you will find something somewhere eventually

As I know, software engineer is not a high-salary-job in Vietnam ! My friend who has 8 years experienced can earned about $1500/month ( as a Project manager in a mid-size company with 30-50 agents ).

But if you are a engineer related to Oil , it's a big difference. One of my friends has salary about $7.000-9.000 / month.

I think it's better you live in Saudi Arabia to earn money , and then move to Vietnam for travel and spending money.  ;)
