Where to find Blackrapid RS-7 Sling Strap for DSLR

Hey guys, is there anybody who knows where to buy BlackRapid Sling strap for DSLR or anything similar? I already looked at Abdul Wahed at Batha, Al Harthi and Cam4less but with no success. They only have the hand strap which is not the same thing. The stock strap is not working for me.

For those who want to know, you can check this link out:

welcome jumexpatriates to EB. In behalf of the Mods, please refrain from using your native language. This is an English forum, I suggest you post accordingly. Please read the rules of this forum. Thanks.

Well I have given up on looking for this....lol

For those who want an alternative you can check out my DIY sling strap using your stock strap.

First buy a link with lock at any SACO stores. Try to find a heavy duty one, I manage to get a 8kg capacity link with a screw lock for 2 Riyals.

Then buy a Manfrotto quick release lock that can be used to directly mount to your manfrotto tripod anytime you need to be sturdy. This is I think 35SR at Cam4less or Abdul Wahed stores.

Here is the final look

This is an alternative, I plan to buy the Blackrapid or Carry Speed at home during my vacation. I just don't want that big Canon name on my back....lol. Good luck.

@jumexpatriates - Could you please write in english on this Anglophone forum? :)

Thank you,
Aurélie

I bought one at the Canon dealer in Dubai (in Satwa) but I like your home made idea.

Thanks gashead, got the idea in some sites, just improvised with available parts. But the purpose is pretty much the same. And yes it's very easy to find what you want in Dubai.

sorry guys, I was not able to read the rules about the use of native language.  thanks for informing me about this.

anyway, nice idea you have there dynamo1131.

I will definite try to make one like this.

Thanks.

my only gripe about that particuler design is there is no rearward travel stop.  that is the best thing about my Rstrap (i have an Rs-3 iirc?) i can just drop it, and even with a 7d +70-200 it stops at my hip.

well if you want that travel room, you can scrap your stock strap and use a shoulder strap from a laptop bag, just join the two sides then use the holder at the end(don't know the term for that..lol)to connect to the link lock. Guys this is just DIY, if you really want to compare it to the dedicated one, then buy it... as I said it's for those who are looking for alternatives.
