Secure your financial assets as an expat in Morocco

Hello everyone,

As we navigate the exciting world of living and working in Morocco, it's essential to make informed decisions about our financial future.
We'd love to hear about the different investment options available for expats: how to invest in Morocco or in your home country, explore international options or use online accounts.

To kick off the discussion, here are some guiding questions:

What are the investment opportunities as an expat in Morocco? Are there any specific investment programs?

In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages of investing internationally ? How is your experience with international investments?

What specific points should you consider regarding your investments as an expat (exchange rate management, international tax obligations or repatriation of funds)?

Do you use specialized banking services for expats, such as multi-currency accounts? What are the pros of these services and how do they help you with your finances?

How is the property market for expats? Are there any specific regulations or aspects we should be aware of when investing in real estate in Morocco?

What strategies do you apply to save and invest for your financial future in Morocco and/or to secure your children's financial future?

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us!

All Western governments are profligate in their attempt to buy your vote and redistribute wealth. By increasing the money supply, using every possible excuse including Covid (and there are just about to do the same thing again) they have deliberately caused inflation to rage. On average, the real inflation rate against assets is about 7% per annum, spiking to as much as 20% per annum. The consequence is that most investors relying on the stock market, the bond market, property, gold are all losing money in real terms because inflation outstrips any profits. So the growth of your portfolio is illusory. The reality is that most people are like hamsters on the wheel, running constantly but not moving anywhere. So what is the answer? Invest in artificial intelligence high-tech but you have to choose the right ones. Alternatively, the best long-term asset has been proven to be bitcoin and in my view is safer than any other asset. In the next few months, check out this video by the largest holder of bitcoin in the world, Michael Saylor. [link moderated] He is so smart. In the next few months, I will be launching a new fund using a new safe custody where you retain the keys to your wallet so that no one can touch or move your assets. But it will also pay up to 20 % per annum which will be payable either in bitcoin or in US dollars. If the fund is in default by not paying your daily interest rate, you will immediately receive back your investment principal plus interest to date. It doesn't matter what happens, if the custodian or the exchange, or the fund, go into default, your money will still be secure. This will be more secure than Treasury bills but pay a lot higher return.
