A company who offers the highest quality gaming software and excellent customer support, is seeking a Legal Counsel who will be coordinating, managing, and executing projects entrusted to the Legal & Compliance Department in accordance with their priority level, in a timely manner while maintaining a high quality of work, developing and maintaining the portfolio of gaming licenses held by the company through the attainment and renewal of said licenses.

The successful candidate will need to ensure compliance of the company’s operations and any obligations, as well as managing certain internal matters including any litigation cases, insurance matters and corporate affairs. Building and maintaining a relationship with external legal counsel and other third parties in regard to certain matters and coordinating contractual relationships with third parties from the point of negotiation to the point of execution and beyond will also fall under your remit.

You will also be assisting with the establishment of an internal regulatory framework to be set up for the purposes of ensuring compliance by the organisation, management and employees with applicable rules and regulations to which they may be subject. Advising and assisting other departments of the company from a legal and compliance perspective with respect to a variety of topics related to the operations will also form part of your responsibilities.

The chosen candidate will need to keep abreast with all developments from a regulatory, legal and compliance perspective on a local and international level, while assisting in the identification and mitigation of risks to which the company may be exposed.

A Maltese Law degree together with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience gained in-house or within an iGaming industry and excellent verbal and written English skills are required for this role. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as practical and theoretical knowledge of gaming law and industry-related matters, such as anti-money laundering law, corporate and company law, and/or data protection law, are also needed for this role.
