Organisation Description

Our Client is a private credit institution that operates under, the European Union banking regulatory framework and has two lines of products, card/store value and micro-lending. It also offers prepaid card affiliated with the MasterCard network.

They are now seeking to recruit a Regulatory and Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team.

Job Description

The Regulatory and Financial Reporting Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance (HOF) and will be part of the finance team. The person will be responsible for the internal and external reporting.

Areas of responsibility include:

Prepares ad hoc reports needed by the regulators and management;
Prepares weekly, monthly and annual statutory and regulatory reports for reporting to MFSA, CBM, etc;
Analyses statutory reports, to be able to report internally as may be required;
Carries out necessary liaison with third parties and stakeholders within the finance department and third parties to ensure the end result is delivered in the timeframe and standards required;
Works to automate statutory and other reporting;
Leads the annual planning exercise for the Bank and Group companies;
Delivers timely and accurate internal financial and management reports for the Bank, Group and internal committees;
Prepares monthly analyses of performance versus plan for the Bank and Group;
Builds and analyse KPIs for management;
Manages and develops Navision reporting as may be required and participates in other ad hoc Navision development projects when required;
Works in accordance with the relevant deadlines, ensuring that there is enough time for a proper management review and understanding of the figures;
Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses as may be required by Head of Finance / Bank CFO / Group CFO;
Reports to and supports the other activities of the Bank Head of Finance.

Other responsibilities may include:

Documentation of the Reporting Procedures;
Providing ideas and suggesting ways for the improvement of the way the reports are built, processes and procedures;
Execute ad hoc tasks as may be requested by the HOF/CFO.

Experience within similar role within a financial services institution would be considered an asset;
Excellent command of English language is a requirement;
Good communication and organisation skills;
Ability to manage time and prioritise work;
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools especially Strong MS Excel skills (Visual Basic, SQL, data extraction and analysis) and Navision experience a plus.
In the process of attaining an ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent;
