Have you ever heard the creole expression “Kras an ler, tom lor nene”? Here is what it means.

Expat.com is back this week with its creole expressions. Have you ever heard the expression “Kras an ler, tom lor nene”?. It literally means if you spit upwards, it will fall back on you. And that's exactly what it figuratively meant too : do something back or naughty and it will come back to you. This is basically the Mauritian way of saying, karma will get you!

When can this phrase be used? It can be used to warn someone who is doing something naughty to you or to another person or when they are about to do something. “Hey pa fer sa, kras an ler tom lor nene”, which means “Don't do this, it will come right back at you”.
