Furnishing a condo in Punta Cana

Post new topic

kathmolina

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a condo in Punta Cana for short-term rental.  We would put it through a management office since we life in the United States. We would appreciate any info regarding where to buy furniture, I've been doing some research and I heard the furniture there is very expensive also that the delivery takes a long time. We would only be able to stay there for no more than 2 weeks to receive the condo and buy all furniture.

Thank you!!
Kate

Like you, We live outside of Sto Dom... about 3 hrs away.

We bought a lot of furniture it Ilumel...and sent a local driver for it.
Ilumel has it at their warehouse ready for pickup.
Any store will do the same , I expect

You need to take control of the situation

Illumel has nice stuff but is very expensive. Usually everything in showroom they have so need to visit.

Ikea is also in Punta cana.

Ikea has the best and most affordable furniture, home decor, ETC  even Ikea return policy is considered to be great, and the service they provide and customer service is very helpful. to buy something for my room or I will definitely go to Ikea

I will disagree on affordability.  Ikea is not affordable for many.  It's much more expensive here than it is in many places.

I absolutely agree on their return policy and most of the time their customer service. That  sets them apart!

I found IKEA to be more expensive then the local stores in puerto plata and the furniture in the puerto plata stores are made with real hard quality wood not the cheap compressed wood where the screw fall out after 2-3 years
