Can an American citizen who owns a property in Budapest under his own name receive a residence card?
Please write in English so other members can understand you.
Yes, we , most of us have no idea what you wrote.
It's an ex-pat site after all.
As far as my limited knowledge goes, you can stay up to 90 days only as a US citizen.
Nothing to do with owning property or not.
Hi,
I did. Since I'm fluent in both Hungarian, and American English, I thought the Hungarian version of my question would be the appropriate approach.
Thanks!

Hi!
Thank you very much. i did change me language to English. Misunderstood. Sorry.
I do live in my own property and I can prove it with the Ownership documents.
If you speak Hungarian then perhaps you have a family tie to Hungary?
If so then you can apply for HU citizenship and still keep your US citizenship.
Just owning prperty is not enough to get a resident card on it's own, at least not for 3rd country people.
You are 3rd country if you are a citizen of anywhere else but the EU.
You just need to go int your local city hall and ask for the forms to apply.
They will ask a few questions before giving out the forms to fill out.
If you speak to them in Hungarian that would be a plus.
Hi! Yes! I speak absolute fluent Hungarian. Born and raised here. See what I can do. I immigrated into the United States 34 years ago legally.
