COVID 19 - Request to World Leaders

Dear World Leaders,

The world is facing an unprecedented crisis of COVID 19. In fact, the whole world today, is paralyzed by the stroke of this new virus, which has been unknown so far. As days go by, the restriction to normal life increases and so does human suffering. We do not have any confirmed treatment so far and are still clueless as to when it will reach its peak. Seemingly COVID 19 is infecting on its own term as regards its speed, probable duration and the possible extent of areas/regions it intends to affect.

Our strategy to contain COVID 19, is mainly limited on how to avoid it, by quarantining those suspected and isolating those infected by it. We are helpless over its progress and are forced to accept its presence. We are only trying, limiting its damages, but clearly have no control over its spread. Online Reports suggest that the unreported cases of COVID 19 might by far outnumber figures reported by WHO, which are based on reported cases only. The scientific communities are undoubtedly working very hard to find some effective cure, however presently there is no effective treatment to limit the unprecedented high fatality rates.
Is it not a compelling call for everyone to reflect on whether it is not a warning from nature? Could it be a possible reaction of unintentionally hurting the ecosystem of our planet? Have we gone too far on implementing our national economic strategies at the expense of being insensitive to the ecosystem of our planet?
There are no counter arguments on the fact the COVID 19 has been transmitted from wild animals to human. There are no disputes that, the more we clear the natural habitat for farming or ranches, more unknown viruses will infiltrate human society. There are no disagreements that we are not doing enough to contain climate change.


Is it not the pivotal time to rethink together on how we should conduct our national and global businesses in relation to nature? Is not the moment to come together and agree on strategies to clean up our mess?

It is unnatural for the world citizens to live peacefully in social isolation or self-quarantine. It is unacceptable for anyone to maintain life in restriction and fear. Yet how many of us are we ready to come together and deliberate on possible ways of stopping irreversible damages done to our home, our planet earth? We undoubtedly owe this habitable planet to the innocent children of this world. Our recognized world leaders have been mandated with that moral responsibility.
Let us all humbly request them to “come together and act'' through videoconferencing and earnestly consider steps for saving our planet. Fault finding will not help as we are all guilty. Let us agree to heal ourselves, and our planet, before it decides to heal itself.
Nature operates intelligently and is both active and reactive. Who knows, just by our world leaders' decision, to come together and act, towards caring and repairing damages done to nature, might be sufficient to recede COVID 19 and other possible calamities. It is a noble act which is required at this moment.
