Hi all.

I am in the process of buying a house in Bulgaria and I just wanted to ask if anyone new a rough timescale for a solicitor to make background checks on the notary deed confirming that the property details match and it is debt free etc. Thanks in advance

Hi there,

normally it takes a couple of hours. Also good solicitors actually doublecheck the property - once when you request it, and again in the day of payment, just before you have effected it.

In addition, the public notary should also check this.

Hi.

Thank you for the information it's much appreciated. I am just at the stage where my solicitor checks the preliminary agreement against the title deed if all matches up I can proceed with the property purchase. Do you no if the title deed to the property lists the square metre size of each building and any land included ?
