Personal Taxes and Permanent Residency

Hi guys,

I'm sort of in a fix here and confused.
So, my wife is Ecuadorian and she registered the marriage in Registro Civil already.
I'm an engineer working on a ship for a good 7 months a year, iam planning to apply for PR when i go to Ecuador this time, i will get off my ship and enter Ecuador on a T-3 visa hopefully.
Then start with the PR process.

Now, having a job that keeps me out for more than 180 days a year, will I lose my PR? I really don't have a choice though. Can't quit my job and can't do less time.

Also, my salary gets credited to my account in India and is earned outside of Ecuador. Is it taxable if iam a resident? And since iam out more than 180 days a year. Am I not?

I'm lost. 😔

Your situation is unique .. and it seems doubtful that layman Expats on this forum can give you up-to-date advice you could rely on.
