Hi all

We are hoping someone can help us and maybe point us in the right direction.

We are looking at buying a holiday home in Antalya.

We have been told you have to open a bank account and get a tax number to do this.

Are the banks in Turkey safe, and do you get any decent interest on your money? Is it easy to get a tax number?

We seem to be getting told various things, so thought we would ask people who are actually living there!

Thanks in advance for any help, suggestions.

For interest rates

İts around 23 percent a year! Which is the second highest in world afaik.

Your money is guaranteed by state for every 100k tl per bank account. It should be different banks not couple of accounts in the same bank.

Opening up a bank account is easy. Just use ziraatbank for that.
