Hi All,
I am working in Malaysia on EP and my wife has a Dependent Pass. Due to some emergency my wife had to travel back to India, I am cancelling my EP and will also be travelling back. I asked my employer to cancel the DP for my wife along with my EP. But, as my wife cannot be here my employer is asking for 1500 fees to cancel the DP.
Here are the questions I have.
1. Do I need to cancel DP for my wife or will it be automatically cancelled upon EP cancellation ?
2. If yes,what is the process?
3, If no, will she be blacklisted (this is what my employer told me)?
Can please some one help me.

Yes, her DP does need cancelling (its not automatic) and it can be done without the passport but a fee, as mentioned, needs to be paid as its a extra-ordinary administrative procedure. There is a fine to the employer if they do not cancel an EP/DP as well. So check with them the true cost of the cancellation. If the DP just remains active and your EP is cancelled there will be problems in the future.

I have asked my employer to do the DP cancellation.
They need some police report, letter from commissioner of oath and some other things.
I guess it is an extra-ordinary cancellation process.
