Successes in your career in Cambodia

The plan was to teach English, but that fell through. A friend offered me a job, but it only lasted a few months. Then I started freelance writing. The first year was tough because I was on bidding sites that only paid $10/500 words. Then I got a job for a home improvements site in Australia that paid much better. I've been with them since 2011 and some of their editors have left and offered me work in their new jobs. I doubt I could make ends meet in Australia because it is so expensive there, but I'm doing fine in Cambodia and can afford to take care of a family and go out for a cappuccino and pastry every day. I used to eat out, but we've moved to Klang Leu (a suburb that adjoins Sihanoukville). I eat lunch and dinner here because it's a bit of a hike to Sihanoukville. I love it here because it is much more rural than Sihanoukville, which is getting filled up with high rise resorts and casinos. Traffic is worse, too. Here it's nice and quiet and mostly motorbikes on the roads.

What would you recommend to someone whose career was spent bouncing and adjusting?
I started as a public service clerk and then went on to cleaning, Australian Customs (baggage, drugs, intelligence analysis, surveillance and operations command), warehouse/logistics and finally funeral services  (all aspects).
