I have read that there is a new(er) medical center near Las Terrenas. Is this considered the closest hospital type facility in the area? Is it recommended? If not, where is the closest hospital to Las Terrenas?

Sorry we do not live in that area so I am not sure what is new and what isn't
For extensive care you best bet would probably be Santiago and HOMS hospital. Almost up to US standards.
