Family visa on own expense

Whether an employee can or cannot be given family status would be decided during the time of recruiting, by the employer. Unless it is revised between the employer and the employee, at a later agreed date.

Unlike in some other neighboring GCC countries, an expat employee is not allowed to sponsor his family by himself. Family joining can only be sponsored by the expatriate employee's sponsor / employer.

In fact, even to bring family members over on a visit visa, the employee's company / sponsor must grant permission.

Without the employer / sponsor involved, an employee cannot bring his family over,since all required paperwork would have to be done by the employer's PRO or the sponsor only.
