Buying property in Spain

I am a retired single (well..widowed) woman who is interested in buying property in Spain. I have had a life long love affair with the country and people and have visited many times. I am thinking of a coastal townhouse/apartment in a coastal area. I am planning on visiting in February, renting a car and researching some of the areas around Valencia. I am a little lost in figuring out how to start!
Can anyone recommend resources and/or real estate companies? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
