Mistakes expats make in Belarus

Hello everyone,

Did you make any mistakes when you first moved to Belarus? What were they?

How did you address your mistakes? Did you learn anything from them?

With hindsight, what would you do differently?

Are there any tips you could give future expats in Belarus to help them avoid these kinds of mistakes?

We look forward to hearing from you!

Priscilla

Im so so ashamed to share this, but i just have to... 1. "Well this is my first time to live in a country where English is rarely spoken. I got in the supermarket (Riga magazine) one early morning to get Olive oil for a fast fries. I eventually ended up buying a hair shampoo, just noticed that it wasn't what i wanted when after having cracked my eggs, i added some in my pan and that was it.
2. I entered the bus and had to get 7 stops behind my supposed location, this wasn't funny at all as it was repeated many times until i started using waze gps app.
