Not wishing to offend, but there are a number of topics which I would like to unsubscribe to, how can I do this in 1 attempt and not individually?

The subscribe button is automatic when you post on a topic and you have to unsubscribe from each one as you go along.
You can unclick the subscribe button before you post.
It's also possible you're subscribed to a whole section of the forum.

You can go to your little avatar picture..upper right (by the flag)
Hover over that with the mouse, then click 'Subscriptions'
There you can unsubscribe any watched threads or any watched forums.
Pretty simple.
