Insurance coverage in Ghana

Post new topic

Kenjee

Hello everyone,

Moving abroad requires adequate insurance coverage.

What type of insurance expatriates need the most in Ghana: health, house or liability insurance? All of them? Do they come as a package?

Are there other insurance options to consider like critical illness, damage or property insurance?

Is it better to purchase insurance from an expat insurance specialist or from a local insurance provider?

And what about insurance costs?

Tell us about your experience in Ghana.

Thanks!

Kenjee

You need appropriate health insurance which covers you for full repatriation and emergency return to home country. You should get this from a reputable broker abroad, not in Ghana. You should use only WARA for your check ups. It will cost about 1600 - 2200 depending on age and what how comprehensive you want it. I can recommend the broker I used which got me the cheapest and best of 6 offers I received... xxx (shes excellent, based in Dubai)... thats the only insurance you need and can get. Insurance companies in Ghana do not necessarily pay out, it depends on their mood!!! Hope that helps
