Looks like it is up and running. Pricey though.

Vodafone has extended its data roaming service to Libya after an agreement with mobile operator Al Madar.

Pre-paid and post-paid Vodafone customers travelling to Libya may now access data on their smartphones or Vodafone internet key from €1.75 per MB on a post-paid plan.

Vodafone Malta head of marketing Alexandre Froment-Curtil said Maltese customers’ demand to access data services while travelling to, and doing business with Libya, had increased.

Vodafone Malta customers may now use e-mail, browse the internet and network on social sites from their Vodafone internet key, Blackberry, iPhone or any other smartphone.

Vodafone has 384 network partners in more than 155 countries.

The operator’s data roaming service has a default spending cap with an alert that notifies customers when they reach their desired spending limit to avoid bill shocks.

Hi, I am heading up the team implementing Blackberry on behals of Almadar, currently the service is only in test phase with Malta, it will not go into full production for a while yet, a good way to use it is to turn off roamimg and get connected to a WiFi hotspot, its free at the moment, also turn off gsm

If you want any more info mail me back
