Thanx for your response bt I would like to know about the following; What are the procedures for recruiting interns from abroad in Turkey? When do they take interns?hOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?What about language in turkey people
I graduated from Ankara University in Turkey, in 2010. I have been working in Zambia ever since.
In order for you to practice Medicine in Turkey you need to have either graduated from there, or must pass the Turkish equivalence/profficiency exam. These exams are all in Turkish and automatically require that one be proficient in both Turkish Language and Turkish Medical Practice. For someone from Africa, I can guarantee you that is a non starter.
IM HOWEVER ALSO CURIOUS ABOUT WORKING IN BOTSWANA . I AM SENIOR RESIDENT MEDICAL OFFICERS, AND THERE are no answers on the WEB on requirements.
Internship in Turkey is part of your medical training. All medical students must do 12 months internship before being allowed to graduate. People don't come from outside to do internship. However, already qualified doctors do come and after completing the certification and competence procedures, they go on to practice (mainly in private practice) or join government hospitals to do specialisation.
I have worked at UTH, Kitwe Central Hospital, Mbala General Hospital, and Luwingu District Hospital. Now I'm on leave waiting to start specialisation in internal Medicine at UTH in September.

I don't wish to discourage you, however I must tell you that the training and internship programmes being so nascent in Botswana that you would service yourself far better by working elsewhere. South Africa would be one logical country within the region. UK is a very good option.
Besides, after internship in Botswana, there is no further career progression. You will become a medical officer and remain there for the foreseeable future.
Hello,
Didi you manage to do your internship in Botswana? Iam actually considering moving to Botswana after my medical education next year...
Thanks
Where are you from by the way? In which country have you qualified from. How long are you planning to spend in Botswana?
Iam from Tanzania. I will stay for as long as i feel my career is progressing well.
Looking to hear from you
I suggest you finish your specialist training before coming here. Without specialising you will not progress in your career. My suggestion would be either south Africa where you may not get paid or UK where you will obtain world class training and get paid well for it.
Thank you so much for the advice. I truly appreciate.
How do you see the thought of doing Internship in Botswana then after maybe 2 years in Work, Then afterward do my Specialist Training and go back to work probably in the same facility??
Thanks
Internship in my opinion would be time wasted. Work in SA or the UK. Specialise and then see where you wish to work.

DEAR SIR,
ITS ALL FINE. INTERNSHIPS IS A MANDATORY PRACTICE IN MEDICAL PROFESSION AND THERE IS NO SHORTCUT TO IT. THEREFORE, ONE MUST ENDURE IT. IF HE OR SHE HAS PLANS FOR FURTHER STUDIES, THEY WILL STILL ALLOW THEMSELVES TO GO AND SPECIALIZE IN THEIR AREAS OF INTEREST. FOR THE MEAN TIME JUST TELL US HOW TO REGISTER FOR INTERNSHIPS IN BOTSWANA. THANK YOU

Dear brother
its a very big NO! its never a waste of time my brother. its a transitional phase from lecturers to putting all that is learned in school to practice, and also, a medium for acquisition of experience. In fact, in some universities one cannot enroll for specialization if they haven't practiced for a certain numbers of years. and you know what, you cannot practice medicine, without having done an internships. so its not a waste of time. its a level of knowledge acquisition in each an every school of thought.
i myself, i am a Namibian student, a graduate in medicine, i studied in Kenya, but i want to do my inter ships in Botswana this year starting from may 2016. kindly, advise me on the way forward.
Thank you very much.
Hi,
I did write to the Botswana Medical Internship Training Programme Through Facebook this past month of December and this What I received as a reply..
"
Greetings. I'm sorry to inform you that the Botswana National Medical Internship Training (MIT) Programme will not be accepting any non-citizens. However, the only non-citizens that will be accepted to the programme will be those whose parents are residents in Botswana and or are working in Botswana, those applicants who have at some point stayed in Botswana for some years and those who in the past have studied in Botswana. This is because of unavailability of vacancies. We are really sorry and wish you the best of luck in finding internship elsewhere."
I hope that help. Please me posted if you have any new update on the same.
