Hi, I am only starting to think about idea of working in Malaysia. I have been there twice on holiday, and going again in April to spend 3 weeks traveling around. I love the country, people and I would really love to live there one day.
I want to ask what chances do I have to get a job, and where (if anywhere) they are looking for foreigners...
I have finished The Bachelor of Business (Honours) Degree in one of institute of technology in Ireland and I should soon finish Honours Degree in Business. I also have 4 years of experience of working in retail in systems department - orders, pricing, overcharges and customer service.
The idea to move to Malaysia isn't to earn huge amount of money, rather than enjoy comfortable life and travel a little bit during holidays. Obviously I do not wish to end up with minimum wages ... at the moment I am earning around 2000 dollars a month but since stuff in Malaysia is cheaper than in Ireland I would not mind to earn less.
I am 24 years old male btw 
(and only area I wouldn't want to work is teaching)

Basically no experience no skills no job. I know Ireland has become third world (massive brain drain, no jobs, asset price implosion) so irish grads need to move but why do you think basically with no skills to offer that you can walk into a job in another country? In Europe you don't need a work permit so I would suggest you build a career there first. The fastest route to Asia is via IT companies so is that a career you considered? Age limit for work permits also a lot lower. Otherwise you need to be 27. Also visiting a country is a lot different to working / living in one.
I have news for you. Malaysia is a hell hole to work in. But living is good (except damned traffic these days) and most expats I know balance these out or go alone into business eventually as Malaysia is a great place to do business in - once you get over the general madness of business practice here (corruption, nepotism and sheer stupidity at times). Often expats end up half Chinese in attitudes (I drive like Chinese now - "me first screw you" lol) especially the winners. That takes time and you really want to move half way across the world as you liked a hol here?
You could try tefling - but not in Malaysia. Start with Thailand or china after doing a celta. That's the fastest way to Asia (but not Malaysia)

Thanks, to be honest I don't have much information about working in Asia and I do not plan to move there tomorrow, I just like to be well prepared for something so significant as moving to different country, and if, I hopefully be around 30 and with experience.
But I have to say I am little bit surprised with working conditions there and what people describe here, in fairness if you manage to get working visa in Ireland (or Europe) you are treated with same working conditions as locals and your chances to get a job are same as locals. Most employers do not look at color of your skin, nationality, religion or some other not work related attributes as long as you can get work done properly, which seems is not the case in some Asian countries.
Ireland gained a lot from immigration and cultural diversity of people coming to work here. Maybe it would help there too

Local staff are treated often in small companies like (or worse than) slaves. Hours are excessive (8am to 10pm 6 days a week) and cruelty, sexism, rascism, bullying and power domination is common. Especially in small chinese companies. Most locals want own buisness to escape this rat race. That is why Malaysia is very dynamic! BTW Malaysian labour law says you can't work more than 48 hours without OT. Try telling Malaysians that.....
Expats often obviously don't get the worst of it - and some never see it as they work in all expat places or one of the better local companies (usually larger) that try to eliminate such problems. Some westerners do end up like it also by abusing staff, demanding sexual favours for promotion etc in smaller companies - the backbone of Malaysia work wise. I despise them the most as should know better! They are often the ones going to Thailand a lot and having 16 year old gf's though so they are scum of the Earth. I avoid those types if I can.
Good idea aim now for 30+. You either need to work in a multinational with operations in Malaysia/Asia or become a teacher/engineer or shortage area worker! And make sure you have savings, no debt and of course be single!
