Am moving to Malta in the New Year and assume I will need to buy two cars (one for me and one for my wife). I have heard that cars are very expensive there - does anyone have any advice on the matter, such as:
Is it worth buying a relatively new car - do they hold their value?
Are the roads in good/poor condition?
Are garages trustworthy?
Any makes/models recommended or to be avoided?

Hi Mark,
We bought a new Sirion and found the dealer to be honest and trustworthy.
The roads are awful but gradually being improved.
I think cars are like everything else on an island, expensive. Unless it is grown or made here, it's pricey.
