Hello everybody .I'll be visiting Istanbul by the end of the next week insha'Allah so I'd like to meet some ppl there .I'll be very grateful for any tips on tours n how to book them .

Thanks

Quick tip. Don't book anything from abroad. When you come here ask different tour agencies and bargain bargain!! Best way (in my opinion) is to actually do the tours yourself and not through an agent

Princess81

Thanks for replying .Am I supposed to bargain everything ? how can I go on tour by myself without an agency ?

"Supposed" is not what I mean, what I meant is that you can, don't get ripped off! Travel agents charge commission and make you pay for things that you don't really need to pay for. Buy your entry tickets and stuff, get to the location on your own using public transportation, ask, explore, discover. Or buy a guide book like Lonely planet or rough guides or check wiki travel for information on where to go, what to do, how, when etc. Also, we can help here through the forum

Thank u very much indeed :)

Where can I buy a guide book for tureky ? At the aiport or somewhere else ?

moakh85

You can buy one in your country. A good one and very widely used is Lonely Planet. You can also find some at the airport, touristy places in Istanbul or book shops.

Also, here's some websites to give you a head start:
