OK all you bored people, here is a perfect opportunity for a fun day out weather you are single or family, the Murjan bazaar is worth a visit from 10 to 8pm this Thursday. There will be 30 vendors selling a variety of products from furniture, jewellery, arabic theme novelty items, fairy dress, ballet tutus, pirate outfits, table linen, etc. There will also be food and drinks on sale so you can stay around. Why not make a time to meet up for an Expat.com coffee right here, a perfect opportunity in a beautiful envronment where everyone can feel safe.
You MUST have your iqamah to get in to the compound, you will not be allowed in without one, no exeptions.
So come along to Murjan Village, Fahad Road Highway 2 Al Khafji Street Fanateer Jubail. =D
Hope to see a good crowd there, dont forget your money!

Bernex

Sorry, no iqamah, no entry, compound rules.

Rynzelot

Hi Bernex, can we really enter in the compound, my friend and I are interested in going there on thursday.

k_0025

I have ID Nationality  and passport because am Saudi  shall  I bring it with me  and if this is for western people  why you didn’t told us

Bernex

@ K0225 this is a site designed for EXPATS, so if you are going to get cross about certain subjects discussed then maybe better not to be on it. Our compound is a western compound only, this is the rules made by the saudi Owners. We have to abide by rules that are very alien to us every day, this is part of life living in a foreign country. So please dont get upset with me about it

k_0025

Ok I understand what you wrote and I’m sorry about it

Harmonie

Could we please calm down??

Hey Bernex,

Thank you for the invitation. Unfortunately, I have to go to Bahrain or else i'd be visiting Jubail for sure.

Once again thank you for your effort and keep up the Good work.

God Bless.

Rizwarsi

I find it ridiculous that Saudi society is so segregated. To label something as "Western" or "Foreign" is what's made the country such a terrible place to live in. My "Western" expat friends as well as the other expats are always going on about how difficult it is to interact with Saudis -- I'm yet to come across a compound that's for Saudis only. The rules and whatnot are annoying, but we bypass them every day; people make their own alcohol, people are going out and having relationships, and the LGBT community is pretty swinging. I don't like how the expat community and the local community have to be so obviously divided, and how we are allowed to *secretly* bypass rules, when the locals aren't even allowed to try to.

Bernex

LGBT ? what is that

RedGoblin

@Bernex: pulling back to the topic... How did this event go? was it fun?

Bernex

@RG yes it was a huge success and we raised a lot of money for LOCAL CHARITIES which was what the event was all about before i get any more comments! Everyone had a lot of fun, it was very windy that day so unfortunatley we couldnt do the boat trips for the children, but there were plenty of other things for them to do. Everyone is always going on about nothing to do and saying they will meet up, but as far as i know, nobody from this blog came, their loss..............

Rynzelot

Well questions have been raised yet unanswered, that is why maybe some people were not able to go. When you say it is for western only well it seems to me that you must be a foreigner from a western countries before they can let you enter the compound.

RedGoblin

@Rynzelot: there was no questions of the sort.Bernex clearly mentioned that you would need an iqama and thats it. Yes it is unfortunate that saudis cannot come in, but then every place has their own set of rules its not her who makes them

@Bernex: was planning on it myself. had some other stuff that popped at work. have been dodging a lot of commitments lately. DO keep us posted on any other events that do come up like this one
