Health Insurance Rural Thailand

simonbolton79

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know the approximate cost of health insurance for living in rural Thailand.

I have an ongoing health issue which I presumably will have to put in the application, but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and how much the monthly cost would be?? (GBP please).

I know it's not an exact question,  but advice from anyone who has had to apply with an ongoing health issue.

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon

Have a look at this

https://www.thaihealth.co.th/

Various types and prices.

Medical costs here are very low.

A heart operation will set you back around 500.000 thb as an example.

If you have some cash for urgent matters like these I would advise a lower insurance with small outpatient if you want.

Outpatient cost rural area in governmental hospital is around 300 thb for Doctor, same for nurse plus the medication, which often can be bought cheaper at pharmacy.

Pre existing issues as well as new related to the existing issue will not be insured.

I had my gallbladder removed (40.000 thb) and the insurance company informed me that further expenses on the gallbladder would not be reimbursed...!???.. so I asked if the next removal of gallbladder was not reimbursed... they were just as confused as me... 😆 😂
