We're considering moving to Greece and buying a property in thessaloniki ( the Golden Visa Programme) and we're looking for a trusted lawyer who can assist us with the journey.  Does anyone on this forum recommend a good lawyer who speaks English, charges reasonably and delivers on promises?

Thanks

gdhgini

Hi,

My name is Haluk Gini

We applied golden visa and all went smoothly with our lawyer Mr. ***who is the lawyer of Remax real estate company Greece.

Phone ***.

You may say that you have the number from me.

Hope you the best with Golden Visa.

Obviously none of us know who the "went smoothly lawyer" being suggested here is, but I'd advise you to really think hard before you plump for one, especially if you're giving them a Power of Attorney.  If you decide to change your lawyer after giving them a PoA, it's an expensive and time-consuming process - don't ask me how I know! 1f623.svg

I have property in Greece (no, not for sale) and I also have had a company there since the 1980s.  In that time, I've gone through more "recommended lawyers" than you can shake a stick at: one of them eventually turned out to be quick and efficient at his job, but none was entirely honest.  You may of course have a different view of things, but I am always doubtful about lawyers who break the law and/or dodge their taxes; if they sail very close to the wind in their own affairs, then I don't trust them to treat mine with the seriousness that I expect.
