Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce myself to the group. My name is Massimo, I am originally from Italy where I was born and raised. Moved to Austria and Germany for six years and then moved again to Canada where I lived for 12 years. I hold a dual citizen status, Italian & Canadian.

In 2022 I relocated to Central America, precisely in southern Nicaragua close to the CR border on the Pacific Coast and I have been living here since then.

I would like to have more info and useful resources about Portugal and the Azores Islands in particular where I would like to move soon to start a new adventure.

Any information, contact, or feedback about your life experience in the country would be very helpful to me. I have been to Portugal twice but never on the islands. I heard so many positive things about the Azores.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and sharing more.

Thank you.

Have a look at Discover Portugal. You will find a lot of information there.

Hi Massimo,

You have to specify what information you want. General questions always remain unanswered. Each island is different from the others. The choice of island depends on you, your life purpose, what you're like, what you're looking for, etc...

Hi John,

Thanks much for your reply, I appreciate it. I am planning to move soon, and I am looking for any info regarding jobs, accommodations, Island lifestyle etc...I am thinking of Ponta Delgada or Terceira, angra do horismo.

I have been to Portugal several times but never to the Azores. I need to be in an urban-developed tourist environment because of my profession, I am a holistic wellness coach, personal trainer, Massage & zen shiatsu therapist & instructor.

I can partially work online but I never liked it, would prefer to work directly with people in a hotel/resort spa and the like. In the beginning, I will be happy to get any job to support my transition and get settled.

Thank you.

M.

@Massimo,

As an EU citizen, you have the advantage of not needing a visa. Which makes everything easier. So you can make some exploratory trips to the 3 or 4 larger islands. Establish contacts with hotels/resorts, for example. The Azores, due to their amazing nature, have a health and wellness tourism for therapeutic purposes.
