Hi, I'm a 50 year Scandinavian about to establish in Kenya. In that occasion I need a good and affordable health insurance that covers the most important issues. Have search around a lot and it's a jungle out there, and hope some could give me a tips about company that is reliable.

Hey The Scandinavian, We use UAP/Old Mutual Health Insurance...since 2019. My partner and I are in our mid 30s, it's 180,000 Kshs per year. The only downside for me is that it has a 2,000ksh outpatient co-pay per visit. All in all, it works.

There is a very good broker in Mombasa who has great expertise in this field - would you wish for an introduction?

@The Scandinavian my mom has an insurance brokerage in Kenya.  She would be happy to help you.

I was worried about getting medical insurance that would actually pay claims. I did receive some good advice online: If you can't find any good, reliable recommendations from users, make sure you pick a very large, well-known company - they are more likely to have experience paying claims on a regular basis. Good luck!

Sorry for late reply 😞 and thanks for all input. I ended up with Cigna healthcare, a international insurance. Little costly at 179€ every month. Have become sceptical today since I contacted them yesterday morning and asked them contacting me ASAP. ASAP was the choice they have given among times on the homepage. Not heard from them yet as I'm writing, they sure was good at contacting me before the agreement was signed ...

Will follow up how it's go

The Scandinavian

Wow, they just call me 5 minutes after my post her. Almost makes me believe they are on this forum, haha.
