Hello Expats Nairobi,

I am looking for an individual health insurance . Could I have your guidance. I will be working in a Lab of infectious diseases for the next three months. but maybe extended for a year...
What is the best for a fair pricing?

Thank you

A local (Kenyan) company will give you the best value for money, rather than a specialist expat insurance policy.  Most will offer inpatient care, with outpatient, dental etc as an add on.

We have been with AAR for a few years.  They have three levels of cover for inpatient.  they also have a number of clinics with GP and lab services, if you opt for outpatient.  However;  we have had problems with them paying out over a procedure that my wife had over a year ago, so on the whole, can't recommend them.

I have been told that Jubilee Insurance is one of the better companies (certainly one of the longest established).   It is really a case of looking companies up online and comparing levels of cover.

Be aware that you would expect to take out one years cover.

I suggest that you approach some insurance companies with your requirements.  Jubilee Insurance is a market leader and was recommended to us, for example.
