Work Permit - Malaysian commuting daily from JB to SG

SuiRad

Hello,

We have a small F&B business (services sector) and we applied recently for a Work Permit for our Malaysian candidate. The application was successful and we got the IPA letter.

Now we are a bit confused about the MOM residential address requirements.. Do Malaysians necessarily need to reside in Singapore in order to work in Singapore (in the services sector) ? The info we found on the MOM website are not fully clear (https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permi … ork-permit).

Our Malaysian candidate is living in Johor and would like to commute daily for work in Singapore.

Can someone please confirm us this is possible ?

Let's say we give MOM our business address for the pass issuance, later can we update it with the employee's foreign residential address?

I know that there are Malaysians communting ove the border daily, so it is possible.

I have no idea what they gave as residential address for the pass (Malaysian address, Singapore business address, or forced to rent an apartment in Singapore)? Ask MoM!

Thanks, I will try to call them tomorrow
