Summary:

Overall effort is to support the user in use of the Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS). Responsibilities include performing daily training and maintenance operations with aircraft, ground instrumentation, laser systems, and network operations. Assist in various phases of user training that includes planning, execution, and recovery. Provide technical support services for products and ensure performance. Work directly with US and FMS Military Aviation Units and other Support Contractors. Maintain a high degree of creativity based upon experience. Responsible for exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. The individual will be located in accordance with the contract support location. Required to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays. Occasional heavy lifting of up to 51 pounds is required.

 

Responsibilities/Skills:

  1. Prepare and conduct classroom and hands on theory of operation, installation, and maintenance training for the utilization of TESS Air, Ground and Network Systems.
  2. Guide and instruct on installation and removal of instrumentation and laser equipment on aircraft, ground vehicles and establish connections to fixed and remote networks. Inform authorized users in completion of associated logbook, forms, and records for completion of installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the TESS Systems.
  3. Oversee inspections and maintenance of instrumentation and laser equipment installed on aircraft and ground vehicles.
  4. Setup, operate and maintain fixed Modular Mobile Command and Control (MMCC) TESS Network at local/mobile/remote TESS Network sites.
  5. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the ICE components and how they interact with the TESS Air, Ground and Network Systems.
  6. Work with TESS Training Officer on the use of the system. Teach, mentor and coach TESS capabilities of the systems and how to best employ it for training.
  7. Investigate all malfunctions of the equipment for “on the spot” corrections when possible.
  8. Make very minor repairs as necessary and appropriate.
  9. Maintain records of repairs and other actions.
  10. Maintain inventory of delivered and spare equipment as needed.
  11. Attend Military and ICE planning and coordination meetings.
  12. Interpret the needs of the Customer and work with the ICE Program and Engineering Staff to investigate enhancements/upgrades. Assist ICE Management in introducing new products to the Customer.
  13. Maintain and provide (weekly) detailed reporting of TESS Air, Ground and Network Systems statuses to ICE Program and Engineering Teams.
  14. Coordinate with Customer Logistics personnel, assist with internal/external documentation, in order to ship equipment to/from ICE Mesa Depot for repair and return.
