Hi, does anyone have a personal experience in bringing a vehicle into Ecuador from the US I keep hearing many different stories and would love to know the real scoop. Thanks.

Hello,

You can ship a car from the US only if you're an ecuadorian returning to the country or if you work in the diplomatic service. There's no other ways.

As it was mentioned: no way. You can go ahead and import a brand new one (0 mileage), but after paying all the taxes it'll cost you almost the same as buying here.
Hybrids and electric cars here have no or small import tax.
