"I hadn't heard of a temporary detainment

visa and on the chance that such exists,

I would forget about that and not mention

the term again.

The professional visa is a thing, although

the list of universities approved for this visa

may not include schools in China. However,

an Expat can obtain a visa even if the school

is not on the list.

Coming from China and all, I'd recommend

you work with an Ecuador-based visa specialist

or immigration attorney.
